How to Get Rid of Mice Outside

1- Use of steel wool

If you want to keep the mice outside, then use steel wool. This is something mice cannot chew, so placing the steel wool inside the gaps and cracks will prevent them from getting in. If they try to get in by chewing the steel wool for sure, they are going to die because they will stick in the steel wool, and once they get in, it is difficult to get out of it.

2- Use of light 

Mice like to live in dark places. Use a light at the darker places like attic, deck, and basement to keep them away from your home. You can also use a flashlight to check out the darker places.

3- Use of peppermint 

Clean your house properly and spray peppermint all over the house to keep the house fresh and to scare the mice. They do not like the smell of peppermint. Spray this solution outside the house if there are any plants or trees. Peppermint odor will force them to stay away from your area.

4- Use of antifreeze

We would recommend you to use this method only if you do not have pets. Antifreeze smells like sweet, so there are chances it may attract the mice, but it acts as a poison so it can be helpful to get rid of mice.

5- Use of brick 

If the holes are big and you cannot fill them, will steel wools then place the bricks in front of open holes? Keep them in a random position, as they are heavy in weight, so the mice cannot move them.

6- Repel them with ammonia 

Ammonia is used as one of the top used repellents to repel the rodents. Like other rodents, mice also do not like the smell of ammonia. Place the ammonia near to the entry points, or near to the crakes, it will keep the mice outside.

7- Use of mothballs 

Mothball had a bitter smell that is harder for the mice; keep the mothballs within and outside the house. Use these mothballs if there are any plants outside the house. The smell of mothball will repel the mice to stay away from your house.

8- Trim the trees

Trim the trees and plants that can help mice to get into your house and hide in the bottom of plants. Trim plants on a weekly basis, when there will be no place, they will not get into your home.

9- Use of hot sauce 

Hot sauce contains a sharp smell, and it can be used to deter the mice. Place this hot sauce near to the entry point to repel them.

10- Use of high-frequency sound

There are many devices that contain high frequency and are helpful to scare the mice. Buy the best one and use it whenever you have a doubt they are near to your house. These voices are enough to scare them, and they are going to run away from your house.
